On October 4th 2019, I found a listing for two virtual in-game items found on a mobile game called 'Graal Online Era' called 'Blue Umbrella' and 'Pink Umbrella'. I would contact the merchant through 'Discord' where we would converse about the items he had "apparently" sold and the items he had left. After a short discussion, he offered to sell me two virtual products: 'Gold Umbrella' and 'Pink Umbrella' for the price of CAD 439.

On the 6th of October 2019, I managed to prepare the necessary funds to conduct the transaction. He would provide me with his PayPal email address ([email protected]), where he instructed me to send over the money FIRST. He initially requested that the provision of the funds was as a "friends and family" transaction, which would have prevented the possibility of a PayPal dispute in case of fraud by him. Luckily, as I sent the funds as a business transaction, the funds would remain in a 'pending' status which prevented the merchant - Jacob Robertson - from having the funds into his account. To transition the funds from the 'pending' status into his PayPal account, he asked me to "confirm a receipt" BEFORE delivering the two products to me. He would continuously justify this instruction as a "precautionary" measure to prevent the possibility of a chargeback. However, by confirming the receipt, this was the merchant's attempt to legitimise the fact that he had given the virtual products to me, EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOT. Furthermore, this ensured that the funds would transition into his PayPal account. Once he received the full amount, he would then proceed to block me from all communication channels WITHOUT DELIVERING the two items he agreed to deliver to me.

Thankfully, on the same day, I managed to dispute the transaction quickly and escalate it to a claim because he immediately blocked me off all correspondence before delivering the products. I provided PayPal with all the necessary evidence, where the sufficient evidence allowed them to come to a resolution that favoured me two days after I escalated the dispute to a claim.

Please be wary of Jacob Robertson (Zar) as he lies about the availability of his in-game products to legitimise his supposedly "successful transaction" history as a merchant. He unsuccessfully tried to scam me of USD 330 (CAD 439), so I write this feedback in an attempt to prevent other buyers from being a victim of this merchant's fraudulent activities.
