You can upgrade the ships individually based on their current values:

• Carrack: $600
• Freelancer DUR: $135
• Dragonfly Black: $40
• Cyclone RN: $65

(For example, an upgrade from the Terrapin to the Mercury Star Runner would only be $40.)
